{"id":19259,"date":"2026-03-10T17:55:17","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T15:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oficinaeconomicagalicia.xunta.gal\/lorenzana-warns-of-the-dangers-of-industrial-denialism-and-calls-for-more-country-wide-policy-and-fewer-obstacles-so-that-galicia-can-continue-to-grow\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T12:45:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T10:45:17","slug":"lorenzana-warns-of-the-dangers-of-industrial-denialism-and-calls-for-more-country-wide-policy-and-fewer-obstacles-so-that-galicia-can-continue-to-grow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oficinaeconomicagalicia.xunta.gal\/en\/lorenzana-warns-of-the-dangers-of-industrial-denialism-and-calls-for-more-country-wide-policy-and-fewer-obstacles-so-that-galicia-can-continue-to-grow\/","title":{"rendered":"Lorenzana warns of the dangers of industrial denialism and calls for more country-wide policy and fewer obstacles so that Galicia can continue to grow"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">\u201cThe Galician Government will continue to support industrial development, because supporting it is supporting the growth of the region,\u201d she insisted<\/li>\n<li class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">She defends the Xunta\u2019s industrial and economic policy with the launch of the Igape Economic Office, the Industrial Acceleration Plan with the figure of strategic industrial projects and the strategy for the exploitation of natural resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\"><strong>Santiago de Compostela, 10 March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Lorenzana, stressed today the need to banish industrial denialism in Galicia \u201cbecause it can end up scaring away investment in our region\u201d. \u201cNo matter how much security and stability the Galician Government offers, if every project that arrives is appealed and suspended, it can lead to entrepreneurs leaving for another territory where it is easier to invest and there is less conflict,\u201d warned Lorenzana, while sending a message of optimism. \u201cWith all the prudence we must exercise at the present time, with great sensitivity to the difficulties and surprises that the international markets are giving us, Galicia is a good place to invest\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Lorenzana, accompanied by the Director of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), Covadonga Toca, took part in the presentation of the 2025 Economic Situation Report for Galicia, where she assured that the Galician Government was right to bet on promoting an industrial policy based on de-bureaucratisation and making energy more affordable. \u201cWe have to be cautious but the latest export data consolidate us in fifth place and the growth in industrial employment in the latest EPAs is frankly good and well above the national average,\u201d the Regional Minister highlighted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">At this point, she elaborated on the pillars on which the Xunta de Galicia\u2019s industrial and economic policy is based: the elimination of bureaucracy through the launch of the Igape Economic Office, which has a business innovation area \u201cbecause knowledge transfer is key\u201d; an industrial acceleration plan that has as its basic feature the strategic industrial projects (PIEs), which currently number 15 between those already approved and those in processing. And finally, she referred to the strategy linked to the respectful exploitation of natural resources through the Law on the promotion of the social and economic benefits of projects that use Galicia\u2019s natural resources, which seeks to reconcile their exploitation with the generation of wealth in the territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">However, the Galician Government\u2019s Economics Minister regretted \u201cthat on the one hand we are talking about decarbonisation, where Galicia is already ahead of the targets set in the PNIEC for this decade, and yet we are not putting enough investment into the electricity transmission network to guarantee the evacuation and supply of electricity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Finally, Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Lorenzana praised the quality of the report, which she described as \u201cclear, comprehensive and with a very strategic vision of the region\u2019s reality\u201d, while insisting that \u201cGalicia has everything it needs to lead first-rate
