\nThe director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, participated today in the closing session of Apetamcor\u2019s General Assembly, where she emphasized the fundamental role that transport and logistics play in Galicia\u2019s economic development and in the competitiveness of Galician companies. During her speech, she also highlighted the association\u2019s trajectory, which has spent more than 30 years representing and defending the interests of self-employed professionals and small and medium-sized road transport companies.

<p>
\nDuring the event, she underlined that despite the current international context marked by geopolitical uncertainty, fuel price volatility, and rising operating costs, Galicia has a strong, professionalized transport sector with the capacity to adapt to new challenges. In this regard, Toca Car\u00fas noted that transport, logistics, warehousing, and distribution already account for more than 4% of Galicia\u2019s GDP and constitute a strategic activity for the economy as a whole.

<p>
\nThe director of Igape also highlighted the opportunities associated with the sector\u2019s transformation, particularly in areas such as fleet digitalization, energy efficiency, vehicle renewal, traceability, and intermodality. In addition, she recalled that Galicia achieved a historic export record in 2024, exceeding \u20ac31 billion in exports, and maintained very similar figures in 2025, consolidating its position as Spain\u2019s fifth-largest exporting region.

\nFinally, Covadonga Toca reaffirmed the commitment of the Regional Government of Galicia to the transport and logistics sector at a key moment for addressing challenges and taking advantage of the opportunities arising from its transformation. In this regard, she highlighted the ongoing dialogue with sector representatives and encouraged companies to take advantage of the available support instruments and resources to strengthen their competitiveness.
