Lorenzana announces €14M in grants to boost innovation and digitalization of Galicia’s productive fabric

Cerdedo-Cotobade (Pontevedra), January 9, 2025

The Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, announced today that the Xunta will soon approve a €14 million package to boost innovation, digitalization, and internationalization of Galicia’s productive fabric.

As a new feature, these supports will include a €10.3 million line to promote the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in companies, a key tool nowadays to gain productivity and position themselves in the international market.

During a visit to the new logistics center of the family-owned company Krack in Cerdedo-Cotobade, Lorenzana highlighted the joint work of the council, the company itself, and the Galician Administration to ensure that “this logistics warehouse, crucial for all the modernization and expansion work that the company is doing, has been a reality for more than a year,” she emphasized.

In this context, she highlighted the public support which, as she explained, “is necessary for companies that want to continue growing in Galicia, and that’s why we will continue working with the Economic Office of Galicia and with them in this expansion process in which they are immersed,” she said.

Finally, the head of Economy and Industry pointed out that “we believe this is the way, to support the business fabric to facilitate industrial land as quickly as possible and make procedures simpler” with the aim of attracting investments and employment to Galicia.
