The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, emphasized today that talent plays a fundamental role in the competitiveness and development of Galician companies.
Lorenzana closed the Business and Employment Fair today, where she highlighted that in an increasingly internationalized economy, “we must know how to compete and we must do it with the right tools to gain competitiveness,” she said.
During her speech, she emphasized that the Xunta’s strategy and economic policy is designed by and for businesses and pointed out that “the well-being of our territory depends on economic development and the improvement of our companies, their growth, and the attraction of new ones.”
In this regard, she highlighted that the Galician Government has an industrial strategy based on accelerating the availability of industrial land for companies and making land cheaper “with which we make our public land available to companies for free for eight years,” and also on streamlining the processing of industrial projects, for which “we regulate industrial acceleration figures that allow the creation of small industrial parks in an average of a year and a half,” she explained.
The head of Economy and Industry emphasized that companies are fundamental for the growth of the economy and industry and pointed out that “it is our responsibility, that of the Administrations, to provide them with the ideal conditions.”
Along these lines, she referred to the launch of the Galician Economic Office, which depends on Igape, with the aim of advancing in debureaucratization, boosting business activity in the Community, and promoting investment. Since its launch in April, it has already handled about 10,500 inquiries and about 500 advisory meetings. “We have a point of advice and support for the implementation of your projects,” she said.
Finally, the Regional Minister pointed out that the objective of the Galician Government is for Galicia and its economy to continue growing, for Galician companies to continue expanding into new markets, and for the Community to function as “a focus of attraction for new projects.”
