- She recalls that the programme allows SMEs and self-employed workers to access credit lines under more favourable conditions, with subsidised interest rates, and to obtain guarantees at no cost
Cualedro (Ourense), 5 September 2025
The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, highlighted today the Galician Government’s support for SMEs and self-employed workers through the credit access support programme for small and medium-sized enterprises, Igape-Pemes. This aid made it possible in 2024 for more than 1,100 Galician companies to launch new projects or consolidate businesses already under way.
This afternoon, Lorenzana visited the O Castelo sheep and cattle farm, located in the municipality of Cualedro (Ourense), which last year benefited from support for the construction of a facility to house agricultural machinery and livestock feed through this aid scheme.
In this context, she explained that the Xunta is keeping the application period open for this line of aid until 30 September. In this edition, the programme included a series of new features to make it easier for self-employed workers, micro-enterprises and small businesses in Galicia to finance their projects, among them the relaxation of justification requirements, the reduction of the maximum interest rate by lowering the spread to 1.80, and even the inclusion of operations with a fixed interest rate.
Finally, the Regional Minister for Economy and Industry recalled that Igape-Pemes has a budget of 19 million euros, with which it is expected to mobilise around 150 million.
