The Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, will travel this week to Japan, where she will attend the celebration of the Day of Honour of Galicia at the Universal Exposition of Osaka 2025 and will also have a schedule of various business meetings.

The Universal Exposition of Osaka 2025, held from 13 April to 13 October, is organised by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) under the motto “Designing the society of the future and imagining our life tomorrow”. Galicia will be present during the week of 16 to 21 September with a series of cultural and gastronomic activities organised by Turismo de Galicia at the Spanish Pavilion.

On the economic front, already in Tokyo, María Jesús Lorenzana will have the opportunity to participate in a meeting organised by the Embassy of Spain in Japan with Galician companies established in the country and Japanese companies based in Galicia. During her stay, she will meet representatives from Fujitsu Limited, Orix Corporation, and Inaba Foods, firms of interest to Galicia. In addition, she will also visit the Spanish Commercial Office in Japan, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the country, and will hold a meeting with the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro), a government organisation dedicated to promoting international trade and investment with Japan.

The aim of the trip is to continue strengthening the commercial and cultural relations that Galicia has maintained with the Japanese country, with rising figures not only at the tourist level but also from Galician companies that already regularly export to this market.
