Barcelona, 5th July 2024
The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, today highlighted the measures that the regional government is taking to consolidate Galicia as the best place in the world to live and invest.
He explained this during the 19th edition of the gala dinner organised by the Association of Galician Entrepreneurs in Catalonia (AEGA-CAT), where he was accompanied by the Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana.
There, he conveyed the initiatives that Galicia is promoting to encourage investment, such as the Galician Economic Office, which functions as a single channel where all procedures between the regional administration and entrepreneurs are centralised; or the plan for acceleration and promotion of business projects. “That Galicia that some placed years ago in the rear carriage is now a locomotive, a powerful Galicia,” Rueda pointed out.
The president also highlighted other social advances, such as free childcare for 0-3 year olds, which from September will be extended to university tuition fees; or the most comprehensive vaccine schedule in the world.
He valued that all these measures, together with return policies, have contributed to Galicia ceasing to be a land of farewells to become one of welcomes. In this sense, he highlighted that the Return Strategy aims to encourage the return of 30,000 Galicians by 2026.
