Santiago de Compostela, 25 August 2025
The Official Journal of Galicia (DOG) has just published the bases for the new call of the programme for the creation of local infrastructures for open and shared use, such as equipment centres or advanced service centres. The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Industry through Igape, is aimed at major Galician companies in pursuit of a more modern, collaborative, and competitive productive ecosystem that small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs can benefit from. The budget allocated amounts to 5 million euros.
These grants will fund up to 60% of eligible investments, with a cap of 2.5 million euros per project. Such investments must be destined for the creation of spaces, industrial infrastructures or services that are available to other companies or entities via an open, transparent, and non-discriminatory use system, that is, places accessible to all companies meeting the established access conditions. Projects must be focused on improving the environment for companies and consumers, as well as modernising and developing the Galician industrial base.
The call also includes the possibility of requesting advances of up to 80% of the granted aid, which represents a significant boost to the financial capacity of the promoting entities. This mechanism helps ensure the feasibility of projects from their initial phases, favouring prompt and efficient implementation.
The deadline for applications will begin at 9:00 a.m. on 1 September and remain open until 2:00 p.m. on 1 October 2025. Projects must be completed before 1 October 2027, and claims for payment must be submitted within this period.
Driving effect
The Galician Government considers it a priority that these infrastructures act as drivers of the territory and the Galician productive fabric, allowing SMEs, entrepreneurs or startups to access high value-added resources that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
Thus, it is estimated that projects promoted by large companies will have a strong driving effect on key sectors of the Galician economy, boosting their modernisation, competitive capacity and adaptation to new challenges.
This new call continues previous programmes that supported the creation of advanced and digital manufacturing centres in various parts of Galicia, with more than €31 million in investments and over €24 million in grants.
Among the supported infrastructures are the Tambre Biotechnology Centre, the Narón Thermal Treatments Centre, the Advanced Services Centre of the ICT City of A Coruña, and a pilot plant in Curtis for the synthesis of high-quality proteins and dairy by-products.
With this programme, the Xunta reaffirms its commitment to a productive model based on public-private cooperation, leveraging the driving capacities of large companies and putting shared spaces and resources at the service of the Galician business fabric to promote innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
