Santiago de Compostela, December 18, 2024

The Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, and the Minister of Employment, Commerce and Emigration, José González, participated this afternoon by videoconference in the Sectoral Conference for Regulatory Improvement and Business Climate. A meeting in which the representatives of the Xunta once again insisted on the important advances in debureaucratization, streamlining and administrative simplification that the Galician Government is carrying out to support companies.

In this context, the head of Economy and Industry highlighted the creation of the Economic Office of Galicia, which depends on Igape, and the figure of strategic industrial projects, which benefit from accelerated processing within a maximum period of one year, thus allowing companies to develop their initiatives more quickly and gain competitiveness.

As she explained, the Economic Office of Galicia, which will also have a headquarters in Madrid – the first outside the Community – functions as a single channel for businesses and industry, and is the point of contact for information and entry for business initiatives and industrial projects, providing information, advice and support. Since its launch in April, it has already handled about 13,000 inquiries.

Lorenzana also explained that this specialized service close to companies allows Galicia to position itself as an attractive and differentiated destination for investment, attract and facilitate the establishment of new businesses, select and capture investments that complement value chains, and favor the maintenance and expansion of investments that already exist in the Community.
