  • She notes that the second edition, already underway, includes 15 projects in acceleration and the support, once again, of leading companies, scientific centres and specialised investors.

The director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, participated today in the closing of the first edition of the BF ClimaTech accelerator, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia in collaboration with the Viratec cluster, which concluded with the creation of four new green companies and more than 300 business contacts.

This first edition, explained Toca Carús, began last October receiving 31 applications, of which five innovative projects focused on ecological transition, circular economy and emissions reduction were selected. In addition to the companies created, more than one hundred support activities were carried out—including tutorships, mentoring, investor meetings and events—which strengthened the green entrepreneurial ecosystem in Galicia.

The participating projects were BioAqua, a biological additive to decontaminate water in collaboration with Viaqua; Agrolinera, focused on digitalising the collection of livestock waste, supported by Agroamb; Arraigo, which promotes industrialised wooden houses with zero emissions, in collaboration with Finsa; Wastex, which applies artificial intelligence for the valorisation of textile waste, with Sogama; and Carbon Manager CO₂, a digital tool to calculate and reduce the corporate carbon footprint.

In her speech, Covadonga Toca emphasised the collaborative model of the accelerator, which combines entrepreneurial talent, scientific support and the involvement of the business and financial fabric: “The active participation of leading companies and investors allowed solutions to be validated in real environments and shortened the path from idea to market.”

The director of Igape recalled that BF ClimaTech is part of the Xunta’s accelerator network, which has already supported more than 830 projects and generated more than 1,400 qualified jobs in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, food and sport. In this regard, Toca recalled that ClimaTech joins other established initiatives such as BFAuto, BFAero, BFFood, ViaGalicia and BFSport.

Toca Carús also revealed that the second edition of the accelerator has been underway since March, comprising 15 projects working through incubation, acceleration or consolidation pathways, accompanied by scientific centres, companies and specialised investors. This new call will continue until the end of the year.

The director closed her intervention reaffirming the Xunta’s commitment to innovative entrepreneurship and to building a Galicia “that is greener, more competitive and more international” through instruments such as the Economic Office of Galicia, specific financing lines and the continuous promotion of new accelerators in sectors such as health or renewable energies.
