The director of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion, Covadonga Toca, took part this morning in the opening of the information seminar “Grants and support instruments for businesses”, held at the premises of the SEARA Business Association in the Penapurreira Industrial Estate in As Pontes, alongside the mayor of As Pontes and president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Valentín González Formoso, where she presented local businesses with the set of supports that the Xunta de Galicia has in place for this year.

During her speech, Toca explained that Igape has activated most of its support lines for 2026, with a “historic package” of more than 280 million euros, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the Galician business fabric through innovation, internationalisation and access to finance. She stressed that this is a strategy designed to provide businesses with certainty and planning in a demanding economic context marked by digital transformation, technological transition and global competition.

In the field of innovation, Igape’s director highlighted the launch of new specific instruments to boost the technological transformation of industry, as well as the continuation of established programmes supporting the application of artificial intelligence, process improvement and the incorporation of innovation in SMEs. In parallel, she recalled that internationalisation remains a key pillar of the organisation’s action, with lines supporting outward expansion, international promotion and participation in trade fairs and commercial missions.

Toca Carús also focused on the role of public financing as a tool to support business growth, through loans, lines of credit and financial instruments tailored to the different stages of companies’ life cycles, from creation to expansion.
