The Department of Economy and Industry is allocating 96,000 euros to expand the road infrastructure of the Pastoriza industrial estate, under the grant scheme for councils to carry out improvements in business areas.
The territorial delegate, Javier Arias, and the mayor, Darío Cabaneiro, visited the area to present the project, which will be implemented in an undeveloped section of the estate, extending it westwards.
New road infrastructure will be built along a 155‑metre stretch, with pavements on both sides and access points to plots, including lowered kerbs to facilitate vehicle entry.
Low‑voltage power, sewage, and water supply conduits will also be installed. In addition, public lighting and surveillance and security systems will be upgraded, connecting them to the existing camera network in the estate.
The aim is to create the necessary services to enable new businesses to set up in the area. Currently, 17 companies operate in this industrial park, which covers an area of about 100,000 square metres.
Arias highlighted that this Xunta grant scheme “contributes to the modernisation and competitiveness of industrial estates” and helps ensure that businesses “have the services and infrastructure they need to carry out their work.”
The grants were announced in February with a budget of 3 million euros, and due to the strong response from councils, the funding was increased by 2.5 million euros to support additional projects.
