The Xunta strengthens its support for Galician aerospace entrepreneurship with new channels for direct collaboration

  • The director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, participates in a working meeting with the projects of the 6th edition of the Business Factory Aero, bringing them the services of the Economic Office of Galicia and the main aid lines activated this year by the Institute

The director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, participated this morning in a working meeting with the startups selected in the sixth edition of the Business Factory Aero (BFAero), the programme promoted by the Xunta de Galicia to support entrepreneurship in the aerospace, aeronautical and unmanned vehicle sectors.

Representatives of leading companies and collaborating entities of the Galician aerospace ecosystem also took part in the meeting, held at the Cidade da Cultura. The aim of the meeting was to establish a direct dialogue between the administration and the incubated and accelerated projects, in order to identify their most urgent needs and open new channels for collaboration.

During her speech, Covadonga Toca presented the services of the Economic Office of Galicia, a agile and personalised contact point that offers specialised technical assistance, operational support and strategic accompaniment in an environment of proximity and trust, especially useful for highly innovative sectors such as aerospace.

Furthermore, the director of Igape explained the main aid lines activated this year by the Institute, highlighting programmes aimed at startups, direct loans for strategic projects, support for digital transformation and new tools to boost the international expansion of Galician companies.

The event concluded with a networking session where representatives of startups such as Kreios Space, Slimop Space, BirdStrikeDrone, Arzeos Aircraft and Dronomy were able to share firsthand their proposals and concerns with Igape officials and other attending organisations, including NTT Data, Airbus, Avincis and the CEL Foundation.

Since its launch in 2018, it has supported 46 projects, contributing to the creation of 11 new technology companies, mobilising more than 7.5 million euros in investment, and facilitating the creation of more than 220 skilled jobs. The sixth edition closed the call with a record 110 initiatives registered, of which 57% come from national and international entrepreneurs.

Galicia thus consolidates itself as one of the main innovation hubs in the aerospace sector in Spain, with a dynamic ecosystem that integrates more than 55 public and private entities, all united to promote technological solutions that address the challenges of industry and society.
