- The territorial delegate for the province, Javier Arias, explained that SME expansion projects are being promoted with average aid of 30% of the eligible investment.

The Xunta de Galicia has allocated 2,096,000 euros in recent months to 19 small and medium-sized enterprises in Lugo to support their expansion projects through the “Galicia Inviste” programme, managed by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion.
The territorial delegate for Lugo, Javier Arias, visited the facilities of Servizos Agrícolas Castedo in Muxía (Lugo) today, one of the beneficiaries that has received the maximum percentage of aid for small businesses, set at 35% in general. Through this project, it has expanded its capacity to provide services to agricultural and livestock farms with the acquisition of a tractor, a tanker, a bale wrapper and a seed drill.
Arias pointed out that across the province as a whole, the average support amounts to 30% of the eligible investment, which exceeded 7 million euros – the general limit for medium-sized enterprises being 25%.
This measure funds both the creation of new establishments and the expansion of existing ones, from the acquisition of buildings to new construction works, rehabilitation and reforms, the incorporation of machinery and furniture, or computer applications, among other assets.
In the municipality of Lugo, seven companies have been beneficiaries, totalling contributions of 792,800 euros; there are also two in Ribadeo and two others in Sarria, with the rest located in Barreiros, Becerreá, Cervo, Guitiriz, Láncara, Pantón, Pol and Rábade.
Javier Arias stated that this programme is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises “due to their decisive role in job creation and the special difficulties they face in accessing capital and finance compared to large corporations”. It has a total budget of 10 million euros for project development, which in any case must be completed by March 2028 at the latest.
The territorial delegate recalled that the Igape calls for various support lines to increase the competitiveness of the Galician production fabric. Thus, it has just opened the application deadline for the “Galicia Exporta Empresas” programme, and since the beginning of the year it has already launched 13 programmes with a combined budget of more than 180 million euros.
