Santiago de Compostela, 19 April 2025
The Official Gazette of Galicia has just published the call for applications for the Foexga (€2.4 million) and Galicia Exporta Organismos Intermedios (€1.5 million) programmes, offering aid to promote exports and the international positioning of Galician companies.
Managed by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), the first of these programmes, Foexga, is run in collaboration with the chambers of commerce and includes the organisation of more than one hundred business missions abroad, with around 400 Galician SMEs expected to participate.
This call targets over 90 priority markets, including China, India, Israel, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Morocco, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Canada, as well as other countries where the suitability of the market for Galician companies can be justified.
The planned actions include direct business missions abroad, as well as participation in trade fairs and other promotional events. These initiatives will receive support covering 70% of direct project costs, with up to an additional 7% to cover indirect costs, under a non-competitive application process.
Galicia Exporta Organismos Intermedios
With regard to the Galicia Exporta Organismos Intermedios line, the aim is to foster business cooperation through joint international promotion actions, coordinated by business associations. This support will enable up to 200 internationalisation actions in more than 40 countries, with up to 180 SMEs expected to participate.
Through this specific line for collective projects, activities such as dissemination, participation in international events, and market prospecting actions will be promoted. The maximum aid per application and beneficiary may reach €400,000.
Since 2014, the Galician Government has allocated more than €28 million to these two support lines, which has made it possible to organise over 500 business missions through the Foexga programme and to facilitate the participation of more than 1,200 companies in joint actions under the Galicia Exporta Organismos Intermedios line. Both are part of the Galician Government’s Internationalisation Strategy, which has contributed to Galicia achieving a historic record in exports: over €31 billion by the end of 2024.
