The director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, participated today in Modiña Lab, an event focused on the world of fashion and its relationship with the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship in Galicia and held at the Centre for Innovation in Vocational Training, Eduardo Barreiros, in Ourense.

This forum brings together the main actors of the Galician innovation ecosystem to address strategies for modernisation and support to the industry, especially in the textile area. A framework in which Toca Carús highlighted the importance of continuing to promote innovation and public-private collaboration to boost competitiveness and new business opportunities in Galicia.

In this context, the director of the Igape highlighted the role of the new Economic Office of Galicia as a single channel aimed at reducing administrative bureaucracy, and which acts as a point of contact for information and entry for business initiatives and industrial projects, providing information, advice, accompaniment, support and access to financing; with specialised staff from all areas, including industry.

This Office, which has attended to more than 10,000 queries since it was set up, offers a new way of interacting with the Galician business fabric, enabling it to reduce processing times for both administrative files and payments.

Likewise, during his speech, Toca Carús emphasised the commitment of the Galician Government to the creation of opportunities for entrepreneurs and SMEs, highlighting the importance of the Galician business factories network, which includes vertical accelerators in the automotive sector (BFAuto), aerospace (BFAero), the food sector (BFFood) and the new accelerator in the field of circular economy and environmental solutions (BFClima Tech); and also VíaGalicia, innovative multisectorial entrepreneurship, especially in the ICT, agri-food and textile sectors, in collaboration with the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium.
