The Director-General for Industrial Strategy and Business Land, Margarita Ardao, announced this morning in Santiago that the Xunta is finalising the second edition of its Executive Programme in the Defence Industry. The new intake will expand the training available with two new executive programmes in cybersecurity and dual-use technologies. A total of 75 places will be offered, which, she said, “will once again position Galicia among the leading regions offering highly specialised training in security and defence”.
Ardao was speaking at the Galician School of Public Administration (Egap), where she closed the first edition of the programme. It was attended by 25 professionals and executives from Galician companies with the potential to enter the defence sector. She recalled that Galicia was the first public administration in Spain to subsidise a training course of this kind.
Demand for the programme exceeded expectations, with 69 applications for the 25 available places, almost three times the number on offer. The Executive Programme in the Defence Industry is jointly funded by the Xunta and the School of Industrial Organisation Foundation (EOI), with support from the Spanish Association of Defence, Security, Aeronautics and Space Technology Companies (TEDAE).
