The Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, today invited Thune Eureka to join the Strategic Initiative for Security, Defence and Aerospace (Iesda), which currently has an open call for partnership agreements with a budget of 40 million euros to form business consortia that develop and manufacture products or services in this field in Galicia.
“We are working with Galician companies that have the capacity to join this sector,” Lorenzana explained during a visit to the company’s premises to explore the possibilities of its participation in this call; “the most powerful instrument the strategy has,” she said, with the deadline open until next 30 September.
The minister pointed out that Thune Eureka has already benefited from the line of support also included in the Iesda for certifications, which had a budget of 1.5 million euros. With this, she added, the Xunta seeks “to support Galician businesses so that, little by little, they enter this world, which is sometimes complicated for companies in the civil sphere”.
With more than 50 years of history, Thune Eureka specialises in the manufacture of equipment and components for various sectors such as shipbuilding, offshore, the refrigeration industry or the defence sector, among others. It is, said Lorenzana, “another example of those family businesses that, from Galicia, are able to reach the whole world”.
