The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, today attended AD Grupo Regueira’s 10th Open Days at ExpoCoruña, where she highlighted the importance of specialist training as electrification advances in the automotive sector.
She said that digitalisation, connectivity and new mobility models are profoundly transforming the industry. In this context, she recognised the work of companies such as Grupo Regueira, which offer garages a comprehensive service in which training plays a key role alongside technical support.
Lorenzana said Galicia has every reason to be proud of its automotive industry ecosystem. The sector is positioning itself at the forefront of the industry thanks to the ability of its businesses and professionals to continually reinvent themselves and respond to new market demands, she stated.
She concluded that events such as these demonstrate that the sector’s success depends not only on its production capacity, but also “on its ability to learn, collaborate and anticipate change”.
In 2025, Galicia’s automotive sector achieved a record turnover of €13.3 billion, up 5 per cent on the previous year. Employment also increased, reaching 23,900 direct jobs, equivalent to 12 per cent of industrial employment in Galicia.
