Nigrán (Pontevedra), 26 August 2026

The Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, highlighted today that, through partnership agreements, the call for which remains open until 30 September, the Xunta is allocating a public investment of 40 million euros to promote the development and manufacture in Galicia of products and services in the defence, security and aerospace sectors.

During a visit to the premises of Vig-Sec Drone in Nigrán, Lorenzana explained that this is one of the main measures being developed by the Galician Government within the framework of the Strategic Initiative for Security, Defence and Aerospace (Iesda) using the Pre-Commercial Public Procurement formula, which will finance projects at very advanced stages of innovation.

With an expected mobilisation of 900 million euros, the aim of this strategy, she pointed out, is to boost the growth of companies already operating in these sectors and to facilitate the incorporation of others that are already working in dual technologies; that is, technologies that can have both civil and defence and security applications.

In this context, Lorenzana highlighted the work carried out by Vig-Sec Drone, which specialises in aeronautical services, training and the development of air space management software. She recalled that the company has participated in accelerators such as ViaGalicia, BFAero and also the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator.
