The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, today highlighted that the Xunta has authorised the tender for the urbanisation works in the fourth phase of the Lalín 2000 industrial estate, which will increase its area by almost 60% with a total investment of more than €22 million.
Lorenzana, together with the Secretary General for Language, Valentín García, and the Secretary General for Employment and Labour Relations, Pablo Fernández, took part today in the IX Aedeza Business Gathering. There she announced that the plan is for the works, tendered for €11.2 million, to begin in mid-next year so that the more than 300,000 m² of expanded area, distributed across 42 plots, will be available to businesses in 2028.
“When it comes to making more industrial land available to the business fabric, which is what we are working hard on at the Xunta, it is essential that all administrations pull in the same direction”, she said, thanking Lalín Town Council for its willingness to collaborate.
As she acknowledged, “it is a historic project for Lalín and the Xunta could not fail; rather, we did everything possible to accelerate this process as much as possible and carry out the entire fourth phase at once”, she added.
In her address to the award-winning companies at this edition, Lorenzana also stated that the Xunta wants to be “by the side of those who make our towns and cities grow”, the small business owners who every day take charge of their business, she said. “It is not only about developing policies to attract industrial investment and major business projects; it is also about supporting the self-employed and small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the backbone of our productive fabric”, she assured.
Lorenzana indicated that innovation, internationalisation and sustainability are on the agenda of every business project, large or small. And in that sense, she concluded that the Xunta works to provide them with the appropriate support lines and the services of the Galician Economic Office at Igape for any queries they wish to raise.
