The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, today met with representatives of the Galician Cross-Sector Technology Alliance (Atiga), which brings together the region’s six leading technology centres. They reviewed the Xunta’s innovation initiatives, focusing in particular on one of the Galician Government’s flagship measures, the Industrialise Innovation programme, which forms part of the first Galician Business Innovation Strategy.
Lorenzana explained that the strategy would be presented to the Council of the Xunta this Monday, with the industrialisation of innovation as its central focus. She said the aim was not simply to innovate more, but to ensure that innovation translates into industry, economic activity and productive capacity. In this regard, she stressed that technology centres play a key role “because they connect knowledge with business, enable new technologies to be tested and validated, and share capabilities that a company may not always have in-house”.
