The Xunta’s territorial delegate in Ferrol, Martina Aneiros, confirmed this morning the Galician Government’s support for Galician businesses through the new IA360 call for business innovation grants from the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), which is endowed with 10 M€ and whose application deadline ends on 16 March. The regional official announced these grants during her visit this morning to STGO, a beneficiary of a 127,000 € grant under this programme in its previous edition, which has left a total of almost 610,000 € in contributions to 6 companies in Ferrolterra.
During the visit, Aneiros recalled that the objective of the grants is to boost business innovation through the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Galician industrial fabric and its value chain, funding activities integrated into projects of this kind. She also pointed out that, with these contributions, companies will be able to cover staff costs, materials and subcontracting, among others.
This call, endowed with 10 M€ until 2027, is aimed at Galician SMEs and large companies, as well as those with a permanent workplace established in the region. The grants are divided into two lines with a budget of 5 M€ each. Line A covers the funding of activities for the development of AI-based products or services to improve industrial processes and the commercialisation of new products. This has a minimum eligible amount of 150,000€. Line B, on the other hand, is dedicated to the acquisition and implementation of AI-based solutions to improve business productivity, and has a minimum eligible amount of 30,000€.
The territorial delegate praised the project launched by STGO, which focuses on the use of quadruped robots in industrial environments. With this project, the company is working on various objectives, such as data management, operational efficiency and even occupational safety, reducing the physical exposure of technical staff to risk areas.
