The Xunta de Galicia highlighted today that collaboration between the public, business and social sectors, together with the promotion of innovation and competitiveness policies, will be key factors for economic growth next year. This was stated by the Director of Igape, Covadonga Toca, at the “Voces que inspiran” Business Keynote, organised by the CEG in Santiago with the sponsorship of ABANCA, a meeting aimed at sharing experiences and strategic vision among Galician business leaders.
Toca highlighted that Galicia ends 2025 with a stronger economic ecosystem, the result of joint commitment between administration, businesses and citizens. She emphasised that the year was decisive for industrial and technological transformation, thanks to advances in automation, digitalisation and renewable energies, as well as the importance of the industry-energy binomial to attract new projects.
She also pointed to the central role of talent, highlighting the efforts of companies in continuous training, attracting qualified profiles and implementing more flexible work models. This is complemented by the growing integration of artificial intelligence in production and management processes, which is already favouring innovation and business optimisation.
The Director of Igape highlighted the strength of internationalisation, which maintained its expansion trend in 2025, and progress in sustainability and ESG compliance, factors that contribute to improving both the efficiency and reputation of organisations.
Five executives analyse challenges and opportunities
The meeting featured the participation of five outstanding voices from the Galician business world —Sara Rodríguez (Hermasa), Olalla Cuiña (Inasus–Metaldeza–Eliper), Mercedes Toscano (Minimelis), Carmen Costas (Executivas de Galicia) and Isabel Álvarez (DPI Estratexia)— who addressed issues such as innovation, AI, sustainability, work organisation and future challenges.
Toca Carús highlighted the trajectory of these professionals and stated that they represent an innovative business fabric, with a global vision and a firm commitment to the economic development of Galicia.
