The Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, today held a meeting with Indra’s CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, and the company’s Technology Director, Manuel Escalante, to discuss the possibility of forming a joint working group to identify collaboration projects in the security, defence and aerospace sector.
This meeting is part of the series of contacts that the Xunta is maintaining with companies in this field to assess potential projects to be developed and the support measures to be implemented under the Security, Defence and Aerospace Strategy approved by the Xunta with a planned investment of €183 million.
To date, 79 investment projects have been identified, 40 of which are related to the expansion or establishment of new production lines in Galicia.
Indra is one of the main private players that has participated in the Rozas business park (Lugo) since its inception ten years ago. Specifically, it is behind the project to automate oceanographic sampling using unmanned vehicles. It is also responsible for the U-Space simulators available at the Airborne Research Centre of Rozas (CIAR). Moreover, it has its own hangar at those facilities, which it now wishes to convert into a test and flight trial centre for the airborne equipment and systems it develops for the Ministry of Defence.
