Santiago de Compostela, 20 August 2026.

The Xunta de Galicia is keeping open, until next 4 September, the deadline for the submission of projects for the first call for aid to boost the development of dual-use (civil and military) technological products, services and systems intended for the fields of security, defence and aerospace.

The Dual Industry programme, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia within the framework of the Strategic Initiative for Security, Defence and Aerospace (Iesda), has a budget of six million euros, co-financed by the European Union within the Galicia Feder 2021–2027 programme.

The aid, published in the DOG on 28 May and open since last 4 June, has been called under competitive concurrence and is aimed at large, medium-sized and small industrial companies that have their own work centre in Galicia. The call gives priority to projects promoted by companies in strategic sectors with high diversification potential, such as automotive, metalworking, shipbuilding, logistics, textiles, information and communication technologies (ICT), aerospace and construction.

Eligible costs range from the purchase of machinery or equipment, works to reform and rehabilitate warehouses or productive spaces, the development of programmes for the implementation of technological solutions (software and hardware), as well as other investments in fixed assets.

In all cases, the types of project to which this aid is directed are the creation of a new establishment and the start of a new industrial activity, or the diversification of production to other goods or services. In the case of SMEs, they are also aimed at expanding the capacity of an existing establishment or fundamentally transforming the production process.

The aid intensity can be 15% for large companies, 25% for medium-sized companies and 35% for small companies, with a maximum aid of 1 million euros per company and project. Beneficiary companies will make a financial contribution of at least 25% of the eligible costs, with their own resources or through external financing without resorting to public aid.
