If we are already registered in the Immediate Information Supply (SII), do we also have to comply with VERI*FACTU?

Yes, but they do not functionally overlap.
The key:

  • The SII is a VAT communication system, while VERI*FACTU affects the invoicing software and record integrity.

Therefore:

  • Companies that are in the SII will also need to adapt their IT systems to VERI*FACTU before July 1, 2025 or 2026, depending on their size.
  • This does not mean they have to send invoices through VERI*FACTU, since the SII already covers part of the tax control. But they do need to comply with the technical requirements for registration and traceability defined by RD 1007/2023.
